Alexis is a passionate interior designer, wife and mother. Born and raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, she was instilled with a love of beautiful architecture and design from a very young age. Her design sensibility was cultivated by her mother, a multi-talented artist, who brought her on frequent visits to antique shops, galleries, showrooms and museums...
....and so began her love of design.
Alexis has worked at top interior design firms in Manhattan and Charlotte, including Gomez Associates (NYC) and Barrie Benson Interior Design (CLT). Alexis Pawling Interiors was established in New York City in 2003 and has been based in Charlotte, NC since 2010.
Founded on classic design principles, Alexis' aesthetic is sophisticated and unique, but is not limited to one style. She expertly blends color, texture and pattern to design smart and energetic living spaces. Alexis embraces each client's vision and personality to help them achieve their home's greatest potential and to create livable, fun and fresh surroundings. Her designs have a curated appeal, combining vintage, custom and antique pieces with splashes of color and whimsy.
As a mother of two young girls and three dogs, Alexis appreciates and understands the practical concern that, in addition to being elegant, a home's interior must be durable enough to withstand the realities of daily life. Alexis's goal is to create beautiful and livable spaces where families can enjoy their time at home and thrive.
